Announcing TAG, a curated Pop-Up Exhibition of Contemporary Abstract Painting Artist and Curator Joyce Conlon selected Bay Area artists who are pushing the boundaries within their non-representational work.

Several artists invited or tagged another artist for inclusion, hence the name of the show. Selections were made based on an admiration and an affinity with the other artist’s work. Galleries are disappearing, so artists are taking matters into their own hands. They are coming together in new, shared venues to display their work. What has drawn these artists together? What is it that draws one artist to another artist’s work…a similarity of style and influence, an emotional affinity, a shared sense of place, or just serendipity? This is the question that’s is being considered with this art show.,,about how artists choose artists.

Participating artists include Sydney Cohen, Joyce Conlon, Ellie Fritz, Kimberly Rowe, Bill Russell and the collaborative team of Liz Kalloch and Barb Skoog.

The exhibition will take place on Saturday, February 27 from 3 pm to 8 pm, with a reception from 5pm to 8pm at Mark Drive Studios, 11 Mark Drive, San Rafael, CA. Additional hours are Sunday, February 28 from 12pm to 4pm. The show is free and open to the public.
